And the winner is…

Wow.  This has been a lot tougher than I imagined.

I was super excited to award 2 lucky winners a scholarship to the Stand Out From The Crowd program.  But I didn’t count on how hard it would be to choose.

I have personally gone through every single submission.  I can feel your passion, dedication and drive to Stand Out in 2012 and take your acting success to the next level.

It has been an honor and a pleasure reading each and every contest entry (there were over 350!!!) as well as connecting with many of you on social media.

I want you to know – whether you “win” the scholarship or not, this is just the beginning.  The desire in your heart to create acting success is an incredible gift.  It is my opinion that as actors, we hold a great responsibility.  Having the courage to truly feel on a deep level, is one of the most powerful ways we can evolve.  Actors not only have this courage, but by fearlessly “going there” we give others the permission to do the same.

Actors help instill compassion, affect change, agitate the status quo, encourage others to question, to strive, to overcome.  And it is certainly a lot of fun.

It has been so fun watching you spread the word, tell your friends, and create an inclusive, supportive community of fellow artists sharing resources.  There is plenty of success to go around, and the more you give, the more you receive in return.

So.  Here I am trying to narrow down the winners to just 2.

It simply isn’t possible for me to do that.

Maybe it’s especially you’re lucky day – because I’ve expanded the scholarship recipients.  I just couldn’t help myself

The Scholarship Winners Are:

Phoebe Allegra – This girl has got some fierce determination. Look out!

David August – He’s funny, clever, ambitious, and generous. Batman teaches math.

Lizza Morales – She never stops sharing helpful information. It’s time to put the spotlight on Lizza!

Melanie Zoey – This actor/writer challenges the status quo.

Joey Monasterios – Joey has heart and smarts, plus the “no turning back” commitment.

Marta Woodhull This singer turned actress is ready for her bullhorn.
