You can’t arrive if you don’t leave

Well I had a birthday last week.  I feel pretty lucky to have such great people in my life.  I kept my party simple and just focused on the really important stuff: friends, family and food.  My dear friend cooked everything just because I asked (how awesome is that?).

What a great gift (and so yummy).  If you know me at all you know the way to my heart is by keeping me well fed with something delicious.  Coupla compliments here and there and I’m a happy girl.  It’s truly as simple as that.

I had such a great week catching up with some of my very favorite people that it’s really hard to leave.  Another trip, another plane ride, another adventure.  More goodbye’s and leaving people behind. I’m excited to get where I’m going, but I hate the part where I have to leave.

I suppose it’s like this in any endeavor.  Mainly your acting career.  Sometimes there are things you simply don’t want to do, but if you want to get where you’re going, you just freakin’ have to.  There are some people who are willing to step up to the plate.  To brave the discomfort.  To go outside of the comfort zone.

leaving sucks

There are some people who want so stay where it’s comfortable (even if that means they stay unhappy).  I love going to LA, and the only way to arrive there is to first leave New York.  Every time I leave anywhere it’s hard.  I like security and comfort (uhhh who doesn’t?).  But if I refused to leave where I was because it was too uncomfortable, then I’d never have the new friends, the new experiences and the new opportunities that I’ve created for myself because I was willing to let go of “comfortable” to embrace “what I really want.”

I love helping other people do this in their acting career.  Whether it be taking a risk to go to a networking event, picking up the phone to connect with a filmmaker, or even sending a first ever tweet.  We all have something that we’ve been avoiding because it’s a little bit too scary.  I love that I get to be a person who helps others walk through the fear, live to tell the story, and get one step closer to what they really want.

In fact, if think you could use my help, I’ve got good news for you.  On Thursday (seven/twelve/twelve) I’ll be announcing a whole new way to work with me privately that was previously unavailable.

Can’t wait to unveil these brand spanking new coaching packages (there’s one for every budget and every schedule).  Want to know more about it?  If you’re not already on my email list, be sure to register asap.  Like, as in right now.  Yup, right over there on the right.

Nice work.

it's worth the trip

Is there something in your marketing plan that you’ve been avoiding like mad cow’s disease?  It’s time to step it up.  You can’t get where you’re going if you refuse to leave where you are.

The trip is always worth it.

Check your email on Thursday for some solutions so you can keep the ball rolling.
